Every year, thousands of students are blocked from tertiary education by a single failed core subject — most from low-income homes that cannot afford remedial classes, registration fees, devices or data. WAEC records over the past six years show core-subject pass rates routinely falling short — Core Mathematics dropped to 48.73% in 2025. Behind every percentage point are young people unable to progress.
